Tweets, Passing the boat launch at ALLEN YORK PARK at the south end of Lake
Tapps, I noticed ,and got into my scope what appears to be a CLARKS
GREBE; with the exception of the black coming to just above the eye(the eye is
in the white). It looks like the guy in the book, brilliant orangish bill; its
what made me pull over. to get to Allen York take 167 to 410, head east
through Sumner, take exit just before hill(Sumner Tapps Hwy), there is a
Texaco at that exit. go under 410 and up hill a couple of miles turning right
at the first light, just at the top of the hill. Follow this road as it winds
down towards the lake. You pass a grade school on the left; follow road to
the right. Start scanning along the lake from this point. I saw it about a
mile from this point but it will be feeding in this area if it stays around
for a while. There is all private property along here but it is terribly easy
to see into the water without getting into too much trouble. I know there is
a small chance this could be a hybrid; but the book does state that the black
occasionally comes to just above the eye........good luck
