Subject: trip to George, Potholes and Dry Falls

Well, I didn't see a chukar on this trip although I think I heard them and
may have seen one flying away but not so's you could claim it as a lifebird.
However, I did see a lot of other birds. Highlights of the trip for me was:
1.Three (yes, count them, three) GREAT EGRETS at the pond at the
intersection of Frenchman Hills rd and Dodson Rd
2. A wonderful LONG-BILLED CURLEW that flew in front of my car and landed in
a field beside me along the frontage rd. east of Adams rd. He stayed and
stayed, eating bugs, so I watched and watched. When he crossed in front of
me, I was taken aback because he was as big as some raptors but not at all
shaped like them!
3. FORSTER'S TERN, AMERICAN AVOCET AND BLACK TERN at one of the public
fishing turnoffs of Dodson Rd.
