Hi,
We have a hummingbird frequenting our feeder that I think is a Male Calliope
Hummingbird. It is obviously smaller than the Rufous that tries to chase it
off and has a gorget that seems to have white spots on it. The tail also
seems to be shorter and I can see no rufous anywhere on it. The hummingbirds
have been here for several weeks but in the last few days they have
multiplied in numbers. My Husband first spotted this hummer two nights ago
and it does not seem to be going anywhere else yet. I don't know how likely
this is to have a Calliope here but I have heard it is possible.
