Tweets,
This morning while doing my area for the Skagit NAMC, I was scanning Lake
Shannon from a ridge above the east side of the lake and watching an OSPREY
on the lake when what cruises through my scope? An adult GOLDEN EAGLE!
Needless to say I quickly diverted my attention from the osprey and onto the
Golden. This was in the area on the east side of Lake Shannon, and there are
many clearcuts up there. Its the type of area where one might find Goldens
nesting in a west side environment (Stampede pass has much of the similar
habitat).
The other goodie was an adult GOSHAWK cruising over Baker river road (also
along Lk. Shannon). Other than that lots of warblers 8 sp. ( 9 for entire
area). Both HAMMOND's and PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER in decent numbers and my
first 2 SWAINSON'S THRUSH for the year.

To identify a species should not be enough to quench one's thirst,
a proper thirst must seek to understand every facet of the bird's
existence.
