About noon, saw a male ring-neck duck swimming with three male mallards in
front of the Seward Park Art Studio (Andrews Bay).
I went to look for mama common mergansers. Two or three years ago, saw a
mom with 14 kids at the fishing pier on the NW end of the peninsula there.
A female did zoom by low and fast, but I saw no mom w/ kids. However,
there was one mallard by itself, calling for mom. Perhaps walkers at
Seward could keep their eyes peeled for a merganser mom at a quieter time
(in response to the message a few days ago; was a mother found for the
orphan?).
