OK, Michelle, so I can't have your 1 pair of cliff swallows!!!

Even though I don't have any :(

But I do have violet green and tree swallows.
over the last 3-4 years, the viloet grees raise a family, then the trees
use the same bird house, and when they are done, the violet greens use
the same house for the 3rd pair of birds to use the same huse in one
season.

Yes, i have several other housed up..but not to swallows likings. this
spring I put another house up. I can not tell if it is occupied.
Several pairs of swllows are in the area.

I beleve seallows also nest at the neighbors. Each year there are a few
more swoallows around.

I plan to makemore swallow nest boxes and put them up......Does anyone
have any info on how closely the tree and violet greens will nest? to
each other and to their own species?

I think I have read that neither nest close to their own kind.
