Hi Tweeties!

While out on my bike today I headed up to the GRNRC, a.k.a. Kent Ponds
enjoying the mild sunshine. (I'm still awaiting my new binoculars! They're
coming from a warehouse in Florida!)

I spied a couple of people in the south tower peering into a spotting scope.
Hmmm, serious birders, I thought to myself. I rode my bike to the tower and
asked if I could join them and sneak a peek. I explained to them I am a
birder without binoculars. They waved me up and I quickly recognized one of
the birders! Fellow Tweeters C.S. of Des Moines, with whom I've birded
before and Roger O. were happily watching a nest containing two or three
fuzzy little "hawkletts" and admiring a peregrine falcon on a snag in the
middle of the pond.

While peddling along the Tower Line trail a killdeer and babies ran along
peeping and darting on and off the trail. Gawd those baby killdeer are
CUTE! We also heard lots of noisy marsh wrens and a common yellow throat.

Still waiting for my new binoculars!
