I am planning on posting a weekly update on what I see on my ventures in
SW Washington. I have missed this for the last 2 weeks but here goes.
This is my 5th year of MAMU surveys.

April 25-27
Highlights
Arrival of Pacific-Slope Flycatchers
Over 90 detections at the Murrelet training.

May 1-5
2 MAMU's seen
Large #'s of Turkey Vultures
Western Tanagers arrive
and Pac-Slopes in good numbers now commonly singing.
(Close encounter w/ a Barred Owl pre-dawn)

May 7-12
Swainson's Thrushes arrive 2 seen May 7, 1 finally heard (not fully
singing) May 11
Black Headed Grosbeaks heard singing May 8.
Evening Grosbeaks seen May 9
Large Numbers of Warbler spp. arrive May 11, not familiar w/ song in this
area but suspect Hermit w/ some Townsend's mixed in

That's it so far.
