Hello from New England. I spent the weekend in MA, VT, NH, and ME. Visited
sanctuaries, cemetaries, parks, and just "good spots". Drove almost 500
miles, not that easy to do in the Northeast with the many slow roads. I
spent the night in the Berkshires - and watched severe thunderstorms pound
around me for several hours.

It's been a long time since I've had so many great birds. 25 species of
warblers including only my second observation of PROTHONOTARY and a
side-by-side view of BLACK-THROATED BLUES and BLACK-THROATED GREENS in the
same tree with 11 BLACK AND WHITES literally spiraling branches in
hypertime. Others warblers included: TENNESSEE, NASHVILLE, NORTHERN
PARULA, MAGNOLIA, BLACKBURNIAN, BAY-BREASTED, (hundreds of) BLACKPOLLS,
WILSONS, HOODED, CANADAS, YELLOW-RUMPEDS, GOLDEN-WINGED, WORM EATING and
CERULIAN.... I had 3 BICKNELL'S THRUSHES on Saturday. I've seen more BLACK
BILLED CUCKOOS than I imagined existed. I saw SUMMER and SCARLET TANAGERS
in the same tree along with an ORCHARD ORIOLE. BALTIMORE ORIOLES are
everywhere. I had a pair of BLUE GROSBEAKS, an UPLAND SANDPIPER, WHITE-EYED
and RED-EYED VIREOS, and oh OVENBIRDS and CATBIRDS abundant. So different,
really the first time in years that I've hit so many places so well in such
a short time. Now it is time to hit the sack to meet with my client at 6:30
am!!
