Twelve Purple Martins were at the nestboxes on Tulalip Bay on Sunday
afternoon when I went out there in the boat to do a little maintenance
at high tide. In as much as I am able to accurately determine such
things, one of them was a subadult, the first of the season , a female.
Earlier in the day while checking another martin nestbox installation on
Leque Island near Stanwood, I sighted two American White Pelicans
circling overhead.
