I took my brother down to Capitol Lake on Saturday afternoon. Not many
waterfowl around, aside from a couple of MALLARDS and CANADA GEESE.
Highlights for the walk included a close-in GREAT BLUE HERON, striding around
in one of the accessory ponds; several calling male RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS;
multitudes of SONG SPARROWS; a bunch of about 10 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS; and
4 or 5 YELLOW WARBLERS, a lifer for me (I don't know how I missed them
before!).
