The family took a Mother's Day trip down to Eugene yesterday, to visit my
sister, a student at the University of Oregon. I am always amazed at the
number of Brewer's Blackbirds along the sides of the freeway in the
Willamette Valley--I don't think I've ever seen one in the South Sound area.
