Northeastern Oregon bird hotline for Friday, May 12 (2000). This hotline,

At Mann Lake, east of Lewiston Orchards, Nez Perce Co, Idaho on May 7 Bryan
Jamison reports a lone BLACK-NECKED STILT and a mixed flock of dowitchers,
including both SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS and LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS. Mann
Lake is about 3 miles east of the Lewiston Orchards along Powers Avenue. ID
DeLorme 54, A-1.

SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were also reported at the south end of Rock Lake in
northwestern Whitman Co., WA on May 5 according to Tom and Diane Weber. Just
west of Lamont in the seasonal pond were 2 EURASIAN WIGEONS. Rock Lake is
about 2 miles north of Ewan off WA 23. WA DeLorme 72, CD-1 to 2.

A MARLBED GODWIT was seen at Columbia NWR north of Othello, Adams Co., WA on
May 8 and 9 according to Randy Hill. It was in marsh unit 2 in the last
impoundment. Access from Othello north on Broadway to McManaman Road, 5
miles NW to Morgan Lake Road, turn right, then 3.5 miles to the parking
area. Take the Marsh Trail after crossing Crab Creek. Go to the last pond
(the trail heads east on the north side). WA DeLorme 53, B-7.

North of Sandpoint, Bonner Co. ID on May 7, along the Pack River, Rich Del
Carlo reports a male YELLOW-RUMPED "MYRTLE" WARBLER with female Audubons.
Rich also reports having a pair of BLUE JAYS coming to his feeder - the jays
have been regular for over a year.

Last Saturday, May 5, I had a single GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at my feeder,
about 5 miles south of Moscow, Latah Co. ID.
