Dear Tweeters,

As many of you know, Jim Lyles passed away on April 20th from a sudden
heart attack. There will be a gathering of friends and family of Jim's at
the Snake Lake Nature Center on May 20th, this Saturday, from 2:00 to 4:00
PM. You are welcome to come.
Jim kept us informed about the Tacoma Peregrine falcons, and created a
wonderful web site with his observations. From his downtown office, Jim
ventured out on his work breaks to see what the Tacoma peregrines were up
to. He watched the falcons nearly every day for more than 5 years. This year
is the first time that the falcons have produced young.
I am continuing to maintain and update Jim's web site at a new address:

Observation of Jim's Tacoma Peregrines is continuing, and there are some
exciting new developments. Judging by the behavior of the adult birds, it is
almost certain that young falcons have hatched sometime between May 11th and
16th. Roger Orness has seen the adult birds bringing food to the nest for
the past 2 days to feed the young falcons. Bill Yake and Rob Banes have also
been providing great observations.
We hope you can join Jim's friends and family this Saturday, May 20th at
the Snake Lake Nature Center in Tacoma:
