Today, there were at least three male Lazuli Buntings in the Oregon White Oaks at Scatter Creek along
Case Road, south of Olympia. I was drawn to their singing as I did not know what I was hearing (another
one I have to learn). Of course, as soon as I got my binoculars trained in the right direction, the
bright blue virtually jumped from the oak leaves.

Great bird and I admit (with head bowed low) that these were the first I have seen in western
Washington.
