Subject: Peregrine bulletin
Hey Everyone,
Roger Orness determined that the Tacoma peregrine eggs had hatched this
week (probably Monday) by observing the adults delivering prey to the site.
Today (Saturday), with the cooperation of the Department of
Transportation, we were able to see into the site for the first time and
found 4 eyasses about 5-6 days old. This is the first time that peregrines
have hatched in Tacoma. We only wish that our friend, Jim Lyles, could have
been there to enjoy them.
You can see a digital photo of the young on the Tacoma site (now
administered
by Greg Pelletier) at http://www.halcyon.com/greg/Tacoma_Peregrines.html
We also passed the 100,000 mark on visits to the Seattle peregrine
web-site (www.frg.org) yesterday.
We will be banding the eyasses in Seattle sometime next week.
Enjoy,
Bud Anderson
