Anyone have any advice on a good CD (audio, not computer) for western bird
I.D.? Have only seen Peterson's Western and the newer Stokes "Western
Region" in stores but have never listened to either. Looking at the lables,
two questions come to mind: the Peterson lable says it is arranged by song
or call "types" (e.g. "whistlers" together). Does that make it hard to find a
particular bird when you know its standard ABA group but not much about its
call or song? The Stokes says it has something like 500+ species on five
hours of C.D. Isn't that a little excessive-- sounds difficult to use?

Basically looking for a good, fairly easy to use, CD of Western bird sounds,
and would like opinions. Want to be sure to get all the singers we have out
here. (Note: we already have the National Geographic CD and don't
particularly like it because it skips a lot of our birds). Thanks.
