Transcription:Tuesday, May 30, 9:21 A.M. Hello, this is Scott Atkinson (206)
660-3862, with a report from Skagit Co. On the morning of May 28th, Sunday,
at the Jensen Access to the Skagit Game Range, on the bay, offshore, 2
PARASITIC JAEGERS; also present here on the flats, a WHIMBREL, and
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER. North at a pond just East of the West '90", on
Samish Flats, there was a late DUNLIN, a female bird molting into breeding
plumage. Just East of here at the Samish River Bridge, a BANK SWALLOW; and
still further East and South at the Josh Wilson Rd, Rt 11, tempory farm
pond, 3 BONOPARTE'S GULL. Thats all.

Tuesday, May 30, 12:34 P.M. Hi, this is Vic Nelson, (360) 638-1089. This
morning in Kitsap County, approx. 2 miles West of Kingston on Hwy 104, you
run into the intersection of Hansville Rd; from there go South on Hansville
Rd about 3/4 of a mile and off to the East of Hansville Rd, in the flooded
field, there was a WHITE-FACED IBIS which is very unusual for Kitsap County.
There are not many good pull-offs but there is one spot on the Westside of
Hansville Rd from which you can scope the field. Thank you.

Tuesday,May 30, 7:17 P.M. Hello, this is Dave Beaudette (206) 365-2083, for
a report for Eastern Washington for May 27 and May 28th. The following
species were identified by me while on the WOS Field Trip led by Ken Knitle
(sp); on May 27, at City Park in Washtuckna, Adams Co., an EASTERN PHOEBE
was seen foraging in an open area North of the swimming pool, NW of the
swampy area. After the initial sighting, the bird could not be re-found. A
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was seen at the East edge of the swampy area also. At
Palouse Falls State Park, Franklin Co., in the trees and brush across from
the picnic grounds, was 1 singing LEAST FLYCATCHER, 1 DUSKY FLYCATCHER, 2
HERMIT THRUSHES, and 1 MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER. At Swallows Park in Misoten
(sp), Misoten Co., was a FRANKLIN'S GULL and 1 GREAT EGRET. The report for
May 28th will be on the next message since the BirdBox interupts long
messages.

Tuesday,May 30, 7:29 P.M. Hello, this is Dave Beaudette (206) 365-2083, this
is a continuation of my last message. This report for May 28th; a SAGE
SPARROW was seen at Steptoe Butte, Whitman Co. The bird was atop a rose bush
along the road, about 2/3 of the way to the top. This bird is the first
record for Whitman Co. In Grant Co. many TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRDS were seen at
the nesting site along the Northside of road 22 NE; to reach this site, just
East of M.P. 73 on St. Rt. 28, go about 1.9 miles on Rd. 22 NE toward Marlin.
From the Northend of a pull-out there, look down on a marsh and you will see
the TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRDS there with RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS and YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRDS. Dave mention the Delorme atlas, however, I could not get the
page because of BirdBox static, sorry.

Wednesday, May 31, 7:05 P.M., This is Paul ??? (could not hear last name, and
he left no phone number) We went on a "Bird-a-Thon" trip and saw a
BLACK-THROATED SPARROW at a marsh (still could not understand what marsh), SW
of George. There is a parking area across the road and if you hike into the
sagebrush, where the sandunes are, about 1/4 mile, it should be "flipping"
around or calling.

Wednesday, May 31, 8:00 P.M. Hi, this is Doug Watkins(206) 842-7131,
reporting for Kitsap Co. Late this afternoon, Ian Paulsen and I located the
WHITE-FACED IBIS in the marsh location described by Vic Nelson in an earlier
transcription. We also had 4 BLUE-WINGED TEAL (3 males & 1 female) and 1
WILSON'S PHALOROPE, possibly a female. You need a scope to locate these
birds. Thank you and good birding.
