Brian Bell and I enjoyed a marvelous morning starting at 7:30A, with some light
fog that burned off pretty quickly. It wasn't too cold nor too hot, and there
was just a hint of breeze. The birds were numerous and active and we saw 47 of
the usual suspects. It was actually a fairly notable day for having many mixed
flocks of birds, some great looks at things, and basically nothing of note. A
few highlights:

D-c Cormorant One flyby
American Wigeon Pair continues at Rowing Club
N. Shoveler 1 at RC, many out on lake
Ring-necked Duck 1 male again at RC
Virginia Rail 2 near weir, 1 at lake, all heard only
Common Snipe About 5 on lake
G.-crowned Kinglet This fall is a good one for GCKI
Winter Wren At least a couple
Lincoln's Sparrow 1 near weir, 2-3 in compost piles
Fox Sparrow Numerous
Pine Siskin Good close looks for a change
Western Meadowlark 2 near baseball fields at east end

There were also two MUSKRATs at the Rowing Club around 7:10A, and both male
(blue) and female (green) BLUE-EYED DARNER.

Among the CANADA GOOSE group, there was one Aleutian, and three or four that
might have been Lesser/Taverners. There was also a Western with a neck collar,
85CW.
