Tweeters,

I was leaving the Natural Resources Building parking lot in Olympia today and a crow swept down
from a metal bar that spans the entrance to the visitor's parking lot. He timed his drop so I
had no chance to swerve to miss him. He went right in front of my truck's grill and, with a
quick deployment of wings, swung out of harm's way. What he left behind was a nut, a walnut I guess,
and I drove over it. Of course, he was on the broken nut immediately after I passed over it.

I think stories like this one are numerous and, perhaps, this kind of crow behavior has become
so common-place as to be not worth mentioning. However, I was dumb-founded at the apparent
precision with which this crow got its nuts broken. I couldn't have missed the nut if I had
wanted to.
