Today I made my first trip of the season to "the flats".

South of Boe Road south of Stanwood were several thousand Snow Geese.

Went on north thru Stanwood and across Fir Island and on up to the Samish
flats.

Birds of note:

Red Tailed Hawks--lots
Bald Eagles, several including two on the nest tree at Padilla Bay.
Northern Harriers 8-10
Rough Legged Hawks 5-6
Peregrine Falcon 1 north of the West 90.
American Kestrels 2 at the west end of Darcy Road
Merlin 1 south of Bayview

Pintails
Green Winged Teal
Western Meadow Larks

No Swans
Did not see any Black Crowned Night Herons on Fir Island Road
