Subject: 6 Owl Night in Kitsap County

I had an all-time high of 6 species of owls last night in Kitsap County,
all within 5 miles of my house. I saw the pair of WESTERN SCREECH-OWLs
that fledged two young from a box behind my garage earlier this year
before I went to bed. I got up at 3am because it looked like a good night
to go owling. I had 2 BARRED OWLS at separate locations, 4 NORTHERN
SAW-WHET OWLs, with a good look at one male (this seems to be a big year
for them), 1 GREAT-HORNED OWL calling, a quick look at a flying BARN OWL,
and then, near sunrise, a NORTHERN PYGMY OWL calling.
