Hi, Tweeters,

First off, a warning...this is an unrequested testimonial for Jerry
Converse's bird feeders, so if you aren't interested, delete.
Jerry did NOT I repeat NOT ask me to say any of this. I'm doing this to turn
the rest of Tweeters on to a darn good deal.

I have two of Jerry's feeders. I won the first one in a Tweeters contest, and
bought another one. (I'm going to buy yet another...I have more birds this
year!)

Jerry's feeders are darn good feeders. They're cheap in price but NOT in
quality. No, they sure aren't pretty, but the birds don't care.Right now I
can see both of mine. The wind is blowing like crazy but at Cafe Blanchard,
all the seats are filled and they're waiting for a table to clear. The
feeders are swinging, mind you, but they aren't straightout sideways.
(On the other hand, my Duncraft tube feeder is unusable right now due to the
wind. I have to clean it at least once a week because it allows rain to
enter, and it constantly needs filling because it's so small.)

I can fill mine and go away for the weekend without worrying that my birds go
hungry. They're easy to clean, durable as iron, and stay stable in everything
but the strongest winds. The perches are adjustable, so that my Evening
Grosbeaks can just barely fit onto them, but the PigBirds (Band Tailed
Pigeons) can't.
I haven't had a problem with water entering them. The lids are sturdy and fit
snugly over the top, so they don't fly off in a wind. The bottoms come off
easily, and since everything's PVC, I can dunk the whole shebang in a 5
gallon bucket of bleach/water, let it sit for a while, and then hose it all
off without worrying about metal corroding, etc.
I can easily see when they need filling.

I've had the one about three seasons now, the second one, one. The only way I
can tell the difference is the bottom, Jerry improved the design. Otherwise,
they're indistinguishable in terms of wear and tear.

About the only thing I can say that's even slightly detrimental is that,
after I finish hosing the cleaner off, I have to pull the perches back out to
their original position. They get pushed in when I lay the feeder on the
ground to hose it. But I really had to work hard to say anything negative
about it...that's as bad as I can get.

Tweets, I seldom if ever give a testimonial for anything. I hate ads and
commercials and junk mail just like everybody else. But Jerry's feeders are
such a great deal and a truly useful feeder that I have to let everyone know.
