Four East Lake WA AS members birded the Kent and Tukwila Ponds on Thurs. It
rained at Tukwila Pond and at Kent Ponds gradually turned to sunshine. We had
14 at Tukwila and 25 at Kent with an overall total of 29 species, highlights
being Northern Shrike and Western Meadowlark.

Double-crested Cormorant - 1 at Tukwila
Ruddy Duck
Canada Goose
American Wigeon - 100 at Kent
Gadwall
Mallard
Northern Pintail - 7 at Kent
Northern Shoveler - 37 Tukwila, 21 Kent
Canvasback - 3 at Tukwila
Ring-necked Duck - 21 Tukwila, 20 Kent
Bufflehead -14 at Kent
Hooded Merganser -12 at Tukwila
Great Blue Heron - 1 Tukwila, 6 Kent
Northern Harrier - 1 w/o tag at Kent
Red-tailed Hawk - 5 at Kent
American Coot
Glaucous-winged Gull
Rock Dove
Belted Kingfisher - 1 at Kent
Northern Flicker
American Crow
Northern Shrike - 1 at Kent
European Starling
Marsh Wren - 1 heard at Kent
Black-capped Chickadee
House Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Western Meadowlark - 2 in a dead tree from north tower at Kent
