Hi Tweeties,

I headed out to Soos Creek Trail (east of Kent, WA) today to photograph the
most beautifully decrepit, falling down barn I've ever seen. I also brought
along my binoculars to check on the birds while I was out there between
eight and ten this morning. Very frustrating on the birding side of my
walk. Everytime I'd get a beed on a bird some joggers would come along and
startle the bird. Or worse yet, joggers and dogs would come along....Well,
you get the picture. At least joggers and dogs didn't scare the barn away!

Here's what I DID manage to ID this morning.

RUBY CROWN KINGLETS
GOLD CROWN KINGLETS
BC CHICKADEES
WINTER WREN
BEWICKS WREN, and possibly a Marsh Wren
STELLER'S JAYS, including one making soft and gentle calls - a first??????
GREEN WING TEAL, American variety
MALLARDS
Group of WIGEONS flying overhead
PIED BILLED GREBE
NORTHERN FLICKER
HAIRY WOODPECKER
DOWNY WOODPECKER - two
And a possible AMERICAN BITTERN. It was flying low, making a heron like
sound, but was too small and tan colored to be a GBH. And of course it
landed deep in the cattails!

Oh, and I heard something that sounded like a baby's squeak toy deep in the
trees.
