Were you wearing a red or flowered shirt, when the hummer approached you?
I've been in the hummingbird aviary at the Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, AZ
(fabulous place BTW) and the hummers were all over anyone who had anything
red, wore a flowered Hawaiian-type shirt or carried a live flower which they
unfortunately had picked from the bushes.
