This year?s Grays Harbor Christmas Bird Count is being held on Saturday,
December 16th. The count covers Ocean Shores, Westport, and Hoquiam and
traditionally is one of the top two counts in Washington each year in terms
of number of species seen.

Traditionally, the best area in the count is the southern end of Ocean
Shores (jetty, game range, and Damon Point). We are looking for a new team
of birders to do that area this year.

Birds seen in the CBC circle in the last 3 years have included:

Yellow-billed Loon
Northern Fulmar
Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel
Great Egret
Harlequin Duck
Harlan?s Red-tailed Hawk
Large numbers of Peregrine Falcon
Glaucous Gull
5 species of owls
Palm Warbler

Check out http://www.ghas.org/recentcbc.html to see results of the last 5
counts.
