The Snowy Owl, first reported seen last Sunday at the Ocean Shores Game
Range by Chris Chappell, was still in evidence this afternoon. About 3:15
pm, it flew out from nearer the edge of the woods, to the outer salt marsh,
where it perched on a long sideways log. The best view was from the end of
Tonquin Ave., but it could also be seen from near the water tower on Marine
View Drive, and from the tower near the beach behind the sewage treatment
plant. It remained in the same spot for at least an hour, quite alert.
Evidently it's a first year female based on its plumage.

Good hunting, both to the owl and to the birders, but not to the hunters
out there too.
