Tweets - In my haste to successfully visit the Bothell Snowy Owl yesterday, I
forgot to send a Marymoor report for the day.

Yesterday was another glorious frosty morning with a dramatic sunrise. There
was no wind, which made the sub-freezing temperatures much easier to deal with,
and the sun was shining almost warmly by the end of the morning. The species
count didn't seem to pile up that fast; we were too busy with great looks at
the scenery and at several birds. However, by the end of the morning we'd seen
a bunch of things:

Canada Goose Hundreds, plus 1 aleutian, 3+ cacklers
American Wigeon Pair at Rowing Club
Green-winged Teal 4 males at RC
Common Snipe Flushed from south of weir
Hairy Woodpecker One at the Interpretive Lot cottonwoods
Brown Creeper 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler A couple of small flocks
Lincoln's Sparrow Maybe 6 in compost piles, RC
Purple Finch Two flocks, good looks

We also had great looks at Bufflehead (lots of head-bobbing at the RC),
Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned Kinglets, Pine Siskin, and Fox Sparrow. We
ended up with 51 species.

After the evening meeting of the Friends of Marymoor Park, there were two BARN
OWL at the windmill. One was sitting on the lower vane calling incessantly,
and aftter a few minutes a second flew in and landed on the hub. There was
much "beautiful" squawking back and forth.
