Tlhe Nature Conservancy site at Foulweather Bluff is not easy to find. The
sign is not visible from the road. Sign and kiosk are hidden in the trees
about ten yards down the half-mile trail to the beach. The site is about
2.8 miles down the road from the store in Hansville. You have to look for
the wide spot on the left shoulder (one car wide, two cars long) just behond
a marshy break in the trees. For birders trying to cover a lot of real
estate in one day, however, you might not want to take the time to hike in,
because there are more accessible, equally productive places to bird, such
as Memorial State Park just a couple of miles south of the Hood Canal Bridge
(Kitsap side).
