Heavy rain over the last several days has slowed activity.

There are still about 300 WESTERN GREBES on Youngs Bay.
At least one CLARK'S GREBE was in the group on Tuesday.
A sizable (200+) flock of AMERICAN COOTS is also on the
Bay.

An adult male MERLIN was at the Astoria Mitigation Bank
on Thursday. Large flocks of NORTHERN PINTAIL are
re-distributing themselves as the duck hunting season
warms up.

84 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER were in the pasture at the west
end of Chinook Valley Rd (Pacific Co., WA) on Saturday.
There were several small flocks of LEAST SANDPIPERS at
the Ilwaco Boat Boat Basin. A friendly RED-NECKED GREBE
was at the Ft Canby Boat Launch.

NORTHERN FULMAR and BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES are still
being seen at SJCR. A SOOTY SHEARWATER was seen on
Friday. Todd Thornton reports several LAPLAND LONGSPURS
on the river beach. The SHORT-EARED OWL is still being
seen across from parking lot B.

Michelle spotted an ANNA'S HUMMIGBURG in our apple tree
this afternoon (we has two large fuschias in the back
yard).
