I birded in Klickitat County on Nov. 29th and easily found the BLUE JAY
reported by Cathy Flick and Stewart Fletcher in White Salmon.
At the Bingen Marina the TUFTED DUCK was in it's usual spot off shore of
the Scaling Shack with the small flock of Lesser Scaup. Several LESSER
GOLDFINCHES were in the brush patches, I was unable to locate the Harris'
Sparrow found by Steve Mlodinow. But this might have been because the
birds were wary from a MERLIN that buzzed the sparrow flock.
I did find the PACIFIC LOONS, MEW GULL, and THAYER'S GULL below John Day
Dam first reported by Steve Mlodinow. Just east of the Maryhill Museum
there was another MERLIN and a NORTHERN SHRIKE was atop of a Osage Orange
tree.
