Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday November 30. If you have anything to add call

A BLUE JAY in now coming to a feeder at 1866 Hope Street in Klamath
Falls. Another is coming to a feeder at 352 NW Lincoln Street in White
Salmon, Washington.

A SNOWY OWL was seen the morning of November 29 near the maintenance
buildings at Mt. Tabor Park in southeast Portland. It remained through
the day. The SNOWY OWL near Tangent continues to be seen. It is in a
field across from the Gerald Phelan Trucking Co. on Looney Lane. Do not
block the truck company driveway.

ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS and RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS are now well scattered
through the state. Wintering RED-TAILEDS are now arriving with several
HARLAN'S HAWKS being reported.

Storms are pushing seabirds close to shore with FULMARS, SOOTY and
SHORT-TAILED SHEARWATERS, and KITTIWAKES seen from the coastal headlands
and jetties. A flock of RED PHALAROPES was off Boiler Bay November 24.

Although the Coquille Valley is still dry good numbers of BLACK PHOEBES
are being seen and SWAMP SPARROWS and RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS can be seen.
Six ROCK SANDPIPERS are still being seen on the South Jetty of Yaquina
Bay. A BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was at Cutler City November 25. A couple of
LAPLAND LONGSPURS are still being seen at the South Jetty of the Columbia
River.

On November 25 at least three male TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were in a large
blackbird and COWBIRD flock along Lower River Road near Vancouver Lake.
At least 48 GREAT EGRETS and 200 SANDHILL CRANES are at nearby Post
Office Lake. Another 300 CRANES are on Sauvie Island. A BRANT was at
Ridgefield NWR November 28.

The Milwuakie BLACK PHOEBE is still being seen at the dam near the end of
Pheasant Court. An AMERICAN TREE SPARROW was at the south end of Jackson
Bottom in Hillsboro November 22. The TREE SPARROW at Fern Ridge Res. is
still being seen.

Both the BURRROWING OWL along 119th. Street east of Salem and the owl
along Smithfield Road at Baskett Slough NWR are still being seen. A SAY'S
PHOEBE was at the junction of Smithfield and Livermore Roads November 24.
An adult GOLDEN EAGLE was at Baskett Slough November 27.

A PRAIRIE FALCON is now around the EE Wilson SWA north of Corvallis.
Another is being seen south of Tangent. A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER is now in
the fields near the intersection of Harvester and Country Roads west of
Tangent, and two elusive LONG-BILLED CURLEWS may be wintering along Seven
Mile Road near the junction of Boston Mills Road south of Tangent.

A LONG-TAILED DUCK joined the COMMON and BARROW'S GOLDENEYES below
Detroit Dam east of Salem November 25. A EURASIAN WIGEON was at the
Prineville Sewage Ponds November 24. A BAND-TAILED PIGEON is now coming
to a feeder south of Prineville. A PURPLE FINCH was in Bend November 24.
The GREAT GRAY OWL is still at the Quail Run Golf Course near LaPine. On
November 27 a HARRIS'S SPARROW was there.
