Hello Tweets,
I'm looking for reference and identification guides to the Trees, shrubs,
ferns, wildflowers, etc... that encompasses all of Western Washington for a
project I am working on in my Botany and Biology classes at SPSCC. I am
really getting interested now in the plant community we have around us and
would really appreciate any recommendations I can get. Also, are there any
online resources out there that anyone knows about on this topic?
If you have any recommendations for eastern Washington, or Pacific-Northwest
flora references, I'd appreciate knowing about them aswell, since I now have
the bug to know all the plants I am seeing in my birding travels. My main
focus of my "project" is to do a bio of the plant life in this region and how
it relates to our bird communities; what birds are drawn to certain
plants/trees, etc... I know some of you on this list are experts in this, so
I hope to hear from you.
Other than this, birding has been real slow for me, I haven't been out in two
weeks, since I returned from my California trip (call me crazy if I ever
drive down to San Diego and back again) It was a great trip, probably my
favorite bird was either Hypoleuca Xantus's Murrelet or Bell's Sage Sparrow,
out of about 225 species seen.
Good Birding
