Featured birds are ROSS'S GOOSE and GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE

Sunday, October 1
At Burnaby Lake, a ROSS'S GOOSE was seen as well as a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE.

At Point Roberts, there were 5 PARASITIC JAEGERS and 1 HEERMAN'S GULL, while
at the nearby Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty were 1 MARBLED GODWIT and 3 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS.

Today there were several late season sightings, including a WESTERN TANAGER
at 56th Avenue and 232nd Street in Langley, a BLUE-WINGED TEAL at Willband
Creek Park in Abbotsford and a WARBLING VIREO in Pitt Meadows.

A PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER was seen at Bates Road in Matsqui.

The arrival ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was reported from Iona Island. Other raptors
include a PEREGRINE FALCON at Iona and an OSPREY in Pitt Meadows.

Saturday, September 30th
At 34th Avenue near River Road in Ladner were 3 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GEESE.

Near Coquitlam Center was a PEREGRINE FALCON and at Colony Farm was an
AMERICAN KESTREL

There were no sightings for Friday, September 29

Thursday, September 28:
A GREAT-HORNED OWL was seen halfway along the south side of Lost Lagoon in
Stanley Park.

Two LAPLAND LONGSPURS were at the end of the south jetty at Iona Island.

Wednesday, September 27:
A PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER was seen at the southwest corner of the Robert's
Bank jetty, along with a RED KNOT and a HEERMANN'S GULL.

A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was at an undisclosed location near Lost Lagoon in
Stanley Park.

Two GREEN HERONS could still be found at the lagoon at Ambleside Park in
West Vancouver.

In an out of town sighting for Tuesday, September 26th, a WHITE-HEADED
WOODPECKER
was seen in the Okanagan at the Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards, which is along
Green Lake Road, 5-kilometers south of Okanagan Falls. The bird is not
coming to a feeder, but was seen on a snag, before it flew away. It has not
been seen since this date.
