Three Common Mergansers flew in to the spillway area of the Chittenden (aka
Ballard) Locks this morning about 10AM, the first I've seen in the area this
fall. They looked like females, but I was wondering if I would see males in
eclipse flying in? I wasn't able to see the wing bars well enough, and I
don't know if I could tell the difference if I did. Thanks
