HI All:
According to the latest AOU Checklist supplement Pica hudsonia is
the Black-billed Magpie NOT American Magpie as stated in the Sibley guide.
Sibley got ahold of an early draft of the AOU Supplement and it must
have used American Magpie for P. hudsonia but the AOU Checklist committee
desided to keep Black-billed Magpie. So in NorthAmerican we still have
Black-billed and Yellow-billed Magpies and in the OLD World they have Pica
pica the Eurasian Magpie.
Sincerely
