Hi Tweets - I was looking through my data (see
http://www.scn.org/fomp/birdlist.htm for a consolidated list) of Marymoor
sightings, and a few of my recent trips have yielded some seasonally notable
sightings:

The 10/11 sighting of Greater White-fronted Goose was my first sightings of
that species in October. There are now Marymoor records for each month from
September through February.

The Osprey on 10/11 represents the latest sighting for this species. The
previous record was 9/25, in 1997.

The American Kestrel, also 10/11, was only the second October sighting, with a
10/14/99 sighting being the only later sighting.

The Peregrine Falcon on 9/27 was the first September record. Peregrines have
also been seen in December and March, once each.

Yesterday's Northern Shrike, 10/11, was the second earliest sighting, beaten
only by an immature sighted 10/9/97.

Violet-green Swallows seen 10/4 represented only the third October record; the
other two late sightings were from 10/11 and 10/12, 1995. 10/12/95 was also
the only October sighting of Barn Swallow on record for Marymoor.

The Ruby-crowned Kinglet seen 9/20 was the earliest fall record by a day,
beating out 9/21/95.

Sightings of Swainson's Thrush on 9/20, 9/27, and 10/4 of this year are the
three latest sightings for this species! Previously, Swainson's Thrush had not
been recorded later than 9/17.

The Wilson's Warbler seen 9/13 was the latest record; previous late record was
9/8/94.

The Fox Sparrow on 9/20 was narrowly the earliest record, edging out 9/21/95.

I have made 28 September and 32 October visits to Marymoor, starting in 1994.
Because I mostly only go once a week there is a certain granularity to the
data.
