Featured birds are BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE and an out of town GREAT-TAILED
GRACKLE.

Sightings for Wednesday, October 11th

In an additional report for October 10th, at the Iona South Jetty Tip, the
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was again seen as well as 6 PARASITIC JAEGER, 5
LAPLAND LONGSPUR and a PEREGRINE FALCON at the ponds.

On October 11th, the Kittiwake could not be found among large numbers of
BONAPARTE'S GULL and COMMON TERN, but 5 PARASITIC JAEGER were present.

At the Tsawwassen Jetty were a WILLET and a BLACK OYSTERCATCHER. Nearby, at
the Roberts Bank Jetty, was a late CASPIAN TERN.

Out of town, in Kelowna, the GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE remains at the Orchard
Park Mall.

Sightings for Tuesday, October 10th

In the sky over South Surrey were 10 SANDHILL CRANE, while over Stanley Park
were 225 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE

There were no sightings for Monday, October 9th

Sightings for Sunday, October 8th

A juvenile SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was seen in the west field at Reifel
Refuge.

Sightings for Saturday, October 7th

On the west side of Burns Bog, 7 SANDHILL CRANES were seen in over flight.

At Iona, 2 PARASITIC JAEGER were seen at the end of the South Jetty, while a
PEREGRINE FALCON and a SHORT-EARED OWL were at the ponds.

Lighthouse Marine Park in Point Roberts was the location for 1 PARASITIC
JAEGER, 1 WESTERN GULL and 3 BLACK OYSTERCATCHER.

The Roberts Bank Jetty hosted 2 MARBLED GODWIT and 5 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER
while nearby at the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty, the WILLET was again seen.

Sightings for Friday, October 6th

At Mount Seymour, a juvenile GOLDEN EAGLE was seen at close range being
chased by RAVENS. In Stanley Park a late CASSIN'S VIREO was seen on Tatlow
Trail.

In an out of town rare bird sighting from Kelowna, a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE,
likely the same bird seen earlier this year, was seen at the Orchard Park
Shopping Center near Chapters Book Store.

Sightings for Thursday, October 5th

The juvenile BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE continues to be seen among large numbers
of BONAPARTE'S GULL and COMMON TERN off the Iona South Jetty. Also here were
8 PARASITIC JAEGER.

A pair of BARRED OWLS were seen in Pacific Spirit Regional Park.
