Six birders went on the ELWAS field trip to Whidbey Is. It turned out to be a
beautiful day with no wind. We birded from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and had a total
of 61 species. The highlights:
3 cormorant species
White-winged Scoters
Barrow's Goldeneye - Bos L.
3 Bald Eagle
5 Northern Harrier
20 Red-tailed Hawks
Black-bellied Plovers - Penn Cove
Semipalmated Plovers - Crockett L.
Marbled Godwit - Dugualla Bay
Dunlin - Penn Cove
Long-billed Dowitcher
Heermann's Gull
Pigeon Guillemot
Belted Kingfisher - 1 male and 2 female
American Pipit - Crockett L.
