Hi Tweeters

Today Sunday the 15th of October, I saw a barred owl in Discovery Park. The
crows informed me that they had an unwelcome guest in the neighborhood. They
chased it from a fir in the south meadow to a small fir 50 yards east of the
south gate. It was at the last location that I was able to observe it at a
distance of approximately 75 feet. The fir was quite thick but I was able
to get a good view of the head and breast. While I observed the owl the 50
plus crows left the area, maybe they sensed my youthful past as a bounty
hunter of their Midwest brethren. The owl stared very intently at me once
the crows left, winked once and ignored me. When I returned with my wife so
she could see the bird, of course it was gone. This sighting and the 35
other species made for another fine day at the park.

God's Peace and Good Birding
