Hi Tweets. Had a pretty good day today on an Audubon Society field trip to
the Hansville area led by Carol Schulz. Large movements of MEW GULLS were
seen off shore at various places. As many as 20 PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen
at Point No Point, along with a few straggling COMMON TERNS and hundreds of
BONAPARTE'S GULLS. Most jaegers were intermediate morph juveniles, but we
also saw 1 basic plumaged adult light-morph. No shorebirds were seen other
than KILLDEER. 25 MARBLED MURRELETS were congregating in the afternoon under
the Hood Canal Bridge. BUFFLEHEADS have returned and we saw several at Buck
Lake. 2 RING-NECKED PHEASANTS were flushed on Pt. No Point. As many as 70
AMERICAN PIPITS were seen at Pt. No Point.
