Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Wednesday October 25. If you have anything to add call

The October 21 offshore boat trip out of Newport was highly successful. A
subadult SHORT-TAILED ALBATROSS was seen at Perpetua Bank about 32 miles
west of Yachats. Two LAYSAN ALBATROSS, 3 FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATERS, 5
ANCIENT MURRELETS, and a LEACH'S STORM-PETREL were also seen.

A female GARGANEY was seen October 22 at the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest
Grove. It could not be relocated. The RUFF was seen there again on
October 21 and although very elusive has been seen daily since.

A BLUE JAY has been seen during the week in the Cloverdale area just east
of Sisters.

The main flight of ALEUTIAN CANADA GEESE passed along the coast during
the week. The first DUSKY CANADA GOOSE flocks have arrived. Large flocks
of CEDAR WAXWINGS are being reported from many areas and conspicuous
groups of WINTER WRENS are being seen.

Shorebirding continues to be good at Bandon. On October 22 a SHARP-TAILED
SANDPIPER was with four PECTORAL SANDPIPERS there.

On October 21 a PALM WARBLER was along the nature trail at the Hatfield
Marine Science Center on Yaquina Bay and a CLARK'S GREBE was at the South
Jetty. A LONG-TAILED DUCK, 2 RED PHALAROPES, 4 FULMARS, 2 SABINE'S GULLS,
and 4 KITTIWAKES were at Boiler Bay October 21.

On October 19 Three TROPICAL KINGBIRDS were in Seaside. They remained to
October 22. A MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE is now coming to a feeder in Seaside.

The eclipse plumaged EURASIAN WIGEON continues to be seen at the Fernhill
Wetlands. Another EURASIAN is on the Dayton Sewage Ponds. Three WILSON'S
PHALAROPES and many LINCOLN SPARROWS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir October
19.

On October 21 two HEERMANN'S GULLS were near Moore Park in Klamath Falls.
