This is Kas Dumroese with the Northern Idaho / Eastern Washington /
Northeastern Oregon bird hotline for Friday, Sep 1 (2000). This hotline,

A BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was visiting Carole Vande Voorde's feeder in
Asotin, Asotin Co. WA this past week. Another BROAD-TAILED has been visiting
Dave Holick's feeder on the south side of Moscow Mt., Latah Co. ID

Among the expected shorebirds at Mann Lake, about 3 miles east of the
Lewiston Orchards, Nez Perce Co, ID this past week was a MARBLED GODWIT
according to Bryan Jamison. Every Saturday in September there will be a
volunteer birder leading tours of the reservoir and IDing shorebirds,
beginning at 8 am near the boat launch and continuing through the morning.
If you come late, look for the group. All are welcome. To get to Mann Lake
from the north end of Lewiston, follow US 12 West into town, cross the
Clearwater River and immediately take the first left toward East Lewiston.
Turn left again onto East Main Street and follow it about 0.5 mile to the
blinking yellow lights. Turn right onto Lapwai (aka Lindsay Creek) Road.
When the road forks stay right on Lindsay Creek. When Lindsay Creeks ends at
Grelle Avenue, turn left onto Grelle, and just after Grelle makes a sharp
right turn, turn left onto Powers Avenue. Follow Powers about 1 mile,
straight past the grain towers, to the reservoir. ID DeLorme 54, A-1 and A

** Transcribers note: 2 Long-tailed Jaegers were found in Idaho over the
Labor Day weekend (9/1 - 9/4). The first, a juvenile dark morph, was at the
west end of Lake Lowell near Nampa in southwest Idaho (pictures at
http://www.egroups.com/message/ible/955). The second, a juvenile light
morph, was found dead at Priest Lake in the northern panhandle of Idaho.
These apparently represent the third and fourth records of this species for
Idaho.
