Friday, September 8
The REEVE (female Ruff) was seen at Reifel on Friday afternoon between 4:00
and 5:00pm in the West Field, near the tower, along with a RED-NECKED
PHALAROPE and several BANK SWALLOWS.

Iona had a LAPLAND LONGSPUR on the tip of the South Jetty, and the ponds had
6 STILT and 8 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS.

Thursday, September 7
6 RED KNOTS were seen on the southwest side of the Robert's Bank coal port
jetty.

Wednesday, September 6
A ROCK WREN was seen along the South Jetty at Iona Island at Kilometer 2.7,
just before the second shelter. There were a number of other passerines in
the area including a HORNED LARK. The Sewage Ponds had 1 SOLITARY
SANDPIPER, 4 STILT and 12 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS.

Another STILT SANDPIPER was at the foot of 96th in Delta, near the Mansion,
along with a GREEN HERON.

12 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen over the Frazerview Golf Course at Kerr and
Marine Drive.

A BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was seen at the mouth of Cypress Creek in West
Vancouver.

Crescent Beach had 3 COMMON TERNS and 15 BONAPARTE'S GULLS.

Out of town 25 to 30 TURKEY VULTURES were seen feeding on Sockeye carcasses
on the Harrison River along where it crosses Highway 7, at the mouth of
Morris Slough. Also in the area were 2 HORNED LARKS.

Tuesday, September 5
The WANDERING TATTLER was again seen on the south jetty at Iona Island at
manhole 20 or kilometer 2.5. Six HORNED LARKS were along the jetty and 7
COMMON TERNS were at the end. The Iona sewage Ponds had 1 SOLITARY
SANDPIPER, 2 STILT SANDPIPERS, 4 BAIRD'S and 30 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS.

Reifel had 1 STILT and 1 PECTORAL.

The Tsawwassen Jetty had 2 MARBLED GODWITS and 25 BLACK TURNSTONES in the
compensation area, 1 WILLET at the base, and 6 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS and 2
HORNED LARKS on the south side.

West of 96th Street in Delta, in front of the Mansion, there was 1 STILT
SANDPIPER.

In a late report for Monday, a late SWAINSON'S THRUSH was heard calling in
Deer Lake Park.

Monday, September 4:
The WANDERING TATTLER was seen on the south jetty at Iona Island, on the
rocks on the north side, between the shelters, at pipe section number 28.

At Reifel the REEVE was seen until about 9:00 am, when it was flushed by a
PEREGRINE. Also in the area were 4 STILT SANDPIPERS.

A further 8 STILT SANDPIPERS were seen in front of the mansion at 96th
Street, as well as a PEREGRINE and a GREEN HERON.

A possible GOLDEN PLOVER species was seen at the southwest corner of the
coal port jetty at Robert's Bank, along with 2 RED KNOTS.

There was a fallout of passerines in Stanley Park with 1 RED-BREASTED
SAPSUCKER, 2 HAIRY WOODPECKERS, 20 WARBLING VIREOS and 25 ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERS.

2 TURKEY VULTURES were over 96th and 208th in Langley, and a MERLIN was
being chased by BARN SWALLOWS at 148th and 108th in North Surrey.

Out of town in Nanaimo at the Nanaimo River Estuary there were 2 RUFFS and 1
REEVE, 1 SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER and 2 STILT SANDPIPER. For further updates
