Hi, Tweets

Aside from vultures, I am a member of the newly-formed Dark Skies
Northwest, part of the International Dark Sky Association, a group which
promotes better lighting so that our night skies are usable for astronomers
and migrating birds, and to end the escalating light pollution that invades
us everywhere.

We are having our first regional meeting in early December and would like a
speaker that can address the problems of migrating birds and night lights
such as the Space Needles sky beam and various other bright lights that
possibly impede migration. The talk would *not* have to address specific
Seattle problems, just the problems that light has on migrants. The meeting
is on the University of Washington campus on Saturday, December 2nd. If
anyone would be able to present a short talk on this subject, please
contact me.

Cheers, Diann
