Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday September 14. If you have anything to add call

The Hart Mountain HOODED WARBLER was seen through the weekend. A MANX
SHEARWATER was among a swarm of shearwaters off Boiler Bay September 12.
1500 HEERMANN'S GULLS were there that day, and on September 7, 2130
CASSIN'S AUKLETS passed northward off Boiler Bay.

A RUFF, a STILT SANDPIPER, and a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER were at Parking
lot D of the South Jetty of the Columbia River through last weekend.

A BAR-TAILED GODWIT, 680 BROWN PELICANS, and over 800 HEERMANN'S GULLS
were at Coos Bay during the week. On September 11, 497 BROWN PELICANS
were off Cascade Head.

Movements of WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, COMMON NIGHTHAWKS, EVENING GROSBEAKS,
MERLIN, and FOX SPARROWS were reported during the week. Good numbers of
SANDHILL CRANES are now on Sauvie Island.

Two ELEGANT TERNS and a STILT SANDPIPER were at Coos Bay during the week.
A SOUTH POLAR SKUA, several ARCTIC TERNS, and all three jaegers were seen
on the September 9 offshore boat trip out of Coos Bay. A PACIFIC
GOLDEN-PLOVER and an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER were at the South Jetty of
the Siuslaw River September 10. A SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was at Fenk Road
near Tillamook September 10.

Ten FORSTER'S TERNS and 10 GREAT EGRETS were at Jackson Bottom in
Hillsboro September 10. A STILT SANDPIPER continues to be seen at Baskett
Slough NWR; on September 9 a FORSTER'S TERN was there. A RED-SHOULDERED
HAWK continues to be seen at Detroit. Many are now scattered through
Western Oregon. Four of them are at Finley NWR.

A BLACK SWIFT was over Albany September 9. A COMMON TERN was at Stewart
Park in Roseburg that day. A SANDERLING was at the Prineville Sewage
Ponds September 7.
