Hi Tweeters: I owled my neighborhood from approximately 1:30am to 4am. I
had my first Barn Owl within 5 minutes sitting on a fence post. I have
noticed several Barn Owl nest boxes put up all over the city. I'm curious if
the land-owners put them up or if an organization put them up for them. If
anyone knows, please fill me in. I then had a large shape fly over head and
land high on a telephone pole. After trudging over a future housing
development I had great visuals on a Great Horned. For those of you who know
me, you know what a treat that is! I had at least two more Barn Owls in
various places echoing their screeching call across their hunting grounds. I
thank the Orting Police for not arresting me and for advising me of
productive roads to go down for owls!! That's a story for another day, trust
me! All in all, a pretty good prowl for a few hours. Bryan Mathews,
