Hi everybody,

I decided to got to Shoreview Park this morning and
see if I could turn up a few migrants. I had slightly
better luck this morning then I have the past two
mornings. I only had a handful of warblers and vireos
on the move but I did have a good variety of sparrows
including Savannah, Lincoln's, Song, White-crowned,
Golden-crowned and an immature HARRIS' SPARROW.

The sparrow was in a willow just west of the ballfield
at about 8:10 this morning. From the the southwest
corner of the ballfield there is a trail which heads
west. Go down this trail and take the first right
(there is a large alder tree here too). The Willow is
on the right side of this side trail about 20 feet
ahead. I tried to relocate it about an hour later
without any luck. There are lots of blackberries and
scotch broom which provide heavy cover for the sparrow
to hide in though.

This is the first Harris' sparrow I have had for
Shoreview Park. It also seems early for Harris' to
show up. Anyway, I wish luck to anyone trying to find
it.

Good Birding,

Michael Dossett
