Sightings for Thursday, September 14

An adult GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at the 3-kilometer mark at the south jetty
at Iona Island.

Three GREEN HERONS, 1 adult and 2 immature, were seen at the lagoon in
Ambleside Park in West Vancouver.

Wednesday, September 13

Reifel had 3 adult BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS, 1 OSPREY, 3 BANK SWALLOWS and
2 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES.

Two juvenile GREEN HERONS were seen at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver.

Out of town a PIPING PLOVER, a first BC record was heard and seen over Swan
Lake near Vernon on September 10.

Tuesday, September 12

The juvenile RUFF was seen at the northeast sewage pond at Iona Island.
There were also 3 STILT SANDPIPERS in the same pond. One RED-NECKED
PHALAROPE and a PARASITIC JAEGER were off the south jetty and the WANDERING
TATTLER could still be found at the 2.5-kilometer marker.

At Reifel there were 2 SHARP-TAILED and 3 STILT SANDPIPERS. An AMERICAN
GOLDEN PLOVER was at the end of the Robert's Bank coal port jetty.

The Tsawwassen ferry jetty had 1 WILLET, 2 MARBLED GODWITS and 6 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS.

A juvenile GREEN HERON was in the display pond of Ambleside Park and another
GREEN HERON was at Bridon Lagoon in Langley.

In a late report for Monday, 2 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen over the 1900
block of Campbell in Port Coquitlam.
